Projektbeschrieb

Anoush Abrar’s latest project, Cherubs, is a photographic interpretation of the winged, celestial infants –cherubim, putti and cupids – depicted throughout Classical and Renaissance art. In particular, this series was inspired by Caravaggio’s ‘dark and fascinating’ 1608 portrait, Sleeping Cupid, which hangs in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. The first portrait, Hector, has been shortlisted for the second prize for the Taylor Wessing National Portrait Gallery Prize. Hector was presented at the London Art Fair in 2016 and it was published in the catalogue but I don't have it unfortunately.
The series consists of 15 portraits but nobody has seen the whole work.
