This is a very very rare series of portraits of Eritrean women in traditional clothing. Not only are they extremely difficult to reach but older woman is even more difficult to photograph. Almost all the countries in the Nord Africa like Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Eritrea have a complicated relation with photography. It is difficult to explain why because it is mixed with cultural restriction and simply fears of usage of the images. In this series I wanted to show how beautiful and strong they are and it is easy to see the history of their lives on their faces.
