Projektbeschrieb

“Because it’s there...”- George Mallory’s famous remark on why to climb Everest has nothing lost of its appeal. The highest mountain in the world still attracts many climbers each year although it is extremely strenuous and a risky endeavour to climb it.
While it is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for many climbers, it is a dangerous but well payed job for sherpas, in an area that offers very little opportunities. To show the emotions and exertion of an Everest ascent, we have set up a studio on the glacier at Everest Base Camp, to capture the faces of the sherpas and climbers the moment they returned from their successful climb of the highest mountain of the world.
