I took these photographs in October 2017 on my way by ferry from Livorno to Olbia. This huge ferry belongs to low cost Grimaldi Lines and it became a House over one night for hundreds of passengers from continental Europe, that were going to spend their vacation at Costa Smeralda on the Sardegna island.
Early arrivals coused sleepy mood on the desk, one could see everything but joyful expectation of vacation - that's the European style of traveling to the south. Which is a very different picture of traveling by boat in the other direction, that we can see on a regular basis, when refugees are floating from the south to the north. Different goals, different conditions, everything is different. Here is my visual comparison.
