Parade
Projektbeschrieb
Just after the Euro (soccer) Final in Vevey, switzerland, july 10th, 2016
The ground why I have taken my camera at the first place, was to try to sublimate the feelings, that all the storm of car horns and shouts days after days during my 21 days of fasting, have create in me. For this purpose, I did go to the ground zero of the celebrating, next to my place, really trying to picture faces full of kind of raw joy.
But then Parade has become a work about boundaries and needs. Boundaries about what socially acceptable or not in our society and where. And also because of the lightning of the scene and my camera : I had to push the iso after the limits and by this way adding noise in the pictures. This noise for me is part of the work, a raw struture, that why he is still there. Like this excess of feelings overflowing everywhere, that moment.
The needs, because I realise all the circus about ego, pride, cars and horns, shouts after winning a match was part of a need of a ritual that we seem to miss in our occidental society today and who asks to be filled : the need to be part of a group, celebrate and share together in togetherness. In a way, for me, it is very touching, and I think, it’s a very common needs to all the human beings.
