Projektbeschrieb

Swiss anthropologist X uses the camera to get a better reading of the places he visits. Viewers are invited to match their knowledge of Manhattan with X's close cropped and playful views of places and things often overlooked. X lives in Zurich and works as an independent researcher and community artist. His fields of interest are urban development and visual anthropology.

X: «I point my camera on landscapes, objects, and situations intriguing me; surprise encounters, the void, signs and symbols of nomadic life, imagined worlds, monotony, and diversity.»

The photo series «Reading cities: Manhattan» was presented in 2016 in a gallery-restaurant in Brooklyn. Flyer enclosed.
