Aruna Canevascini

These photographs were taken in Rio de Janeiro at Tijuca, the worldwide biggest urban forest. Walking around in the middle of this jungle, I happened to catch sight of various people taking pictures of themselves: tiny compared with the impressive vegetation, these individuals were using their I-Phones to immortalize this “wild moment” and take it back home to their frantic urban lives. With my shootings I tried to show with humour the ridicule of the selfie, this mania now overrunning the whole world.
