For the 2017 Swiss Photo Award, I present 6 pictures from the project Track: Techno (June 2016).

Track: Techno started as a project of documentary photography about techno music addicts. Interviewing such people, I understood that they perceived the process of listening to a techno track as a voyage with potent ups and downs, harrowing moments of suspense and instants of release. This led me to putting aside the documentary photographs and attempting to translate such an emotional journey through a visual essay. I present here an excerpt of only 6 photographs from the essay. Although abstract, they are in fact images of other images (plastic sheets, veils, etc.), in other words ‘samples’. Reading the full visual essay (about 70 pictures) should take about the duration of a techno track. A self-published book has been made with the 70 pictures of the essay. At the end of the book, there is a CD with the techno track that inspired the essay.
